A teenager has tragically died and another is in critical condition following a motorbike accident in Liverpool. According to Merseyside Police, two young men fell off a bike in the Woodchurch area on Saturday evening. The incident, which occurred around 6:25 pm, led to the death of a 17-year-old who was declared dead at the scene. An 18-year-old was transported to a hospital where he is fighting for his life.
The police have closed roads around the junction of Hoole Road and Grass Wood Road to investigate the accident. Inspector Ian Cowell from the Roads Policing team confirmed that no other vehicles were involved, although “other males” might have information about the crash. The motorbike was removed from the scene, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Inspector Cowell expressed condolences to the families affected, stating, “This is a tragic incident that has resulted in a teenager losing his life and our thoughts are with his family.” He also noted the severe injuries sustained by the other young man, who remains in critical condition.
The police have launched an appeal for witnesses and any relevant CCTV or dash camera footage that could aid in the investigation. They believe that other individuals were present at the time of the collision and are seeking to locate them to gather more information. When officers arrived at the scene, the vehicle involved, presumably a motorbike, had already been removed. Efforts are underway to locate the bike as part of the investigation.
